Description
The landscape of life looks very different since SARS- CoV-2, AKA, COVID introduced itself in late 2019. This group is designed to explore different topics such as - loss, grief, future, career, loneliness, coping skills, partnerships, identity, etc. As we support, encourage, listen and share different perspectives on how each of us manage a new way of life.
On Monday nights, Leslie will co-lead with Kiasi and explore creative expression as it relates to healing and mental well-being. Leslie will share how she has used art to help her process through the overwhelming feelings of grief caused by the recent loss of a close family member.
"I'm a very creative and adventurous person so when covid hit it wiped out a big portion of my life. From attending cons, exploring the outdoors, to simply sitting in a coffee shop and drawing. Everything about the world I knew had changed so drastically and practically overnight. But I still had my family and we still managed to make the most of it.
In September I lost my uncle. He was closer to a dad than an uncle to me and now I'm having to navigate again through uncharted territory in a world where going out to see a friend is hard. This new world makes it so easy to isolate and never leave the house and it's a struggle to find healthy ways to cope while being safe and not closing yourself off to everyone. One way I found that helps me express myself is art and sharing it with others."
Join Kiasi and Leslie for this special time of sharing, relation and creative processing. Artistic expression is encouraged, so feel free to bring your sketchbook or any other medium to capture your feelings.
